We are adding one more voice to the Tao Te Ching book discussion with the entry of the fifth verse. This voice belongs to Ralph Alan Dale and may be found in his 2002 book published by Barnes & Noble Publishing, Inc. Mr. Dale comes to his translation through years of studying chinese medicine, accupuncture and philosophy. Interesting though, it was an "aha" experience in fifth grade that began this journey for him. This "aha" occurred when an offhand comment made by his teacher allowed him to see the interconnectedness of life. (Sound familiar? One Zen Master tells us he became aware by overhearing a distant unrelated conversation in a marketplace.) His journey picked up speed, however, when he successfully cured his "incurable disease". So please enjoy one more voice as we attempt to understand "that which cannot be told". February 24, 2008
